    ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

    The Growing Hope Movement was born out of the civil and social unrest that took place in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa in July 2021. It became clear that food insecurity is a national security risk.
    Planting food gardens is a peacebuilding initiative and a courageous act. 

     

    Growing Hope aims to initiate and seed permaculture food gardens all over South Africa so that children, schools, communities, and families can reconnect with the earth and be inspired to grow their own food. Education is a key factor in this process of learning self-reliance and self-sovereignty.

     

    Mission 2022 was the first step.

  • Social Venture Founder

    This is a Brave Initiative administered by Grow Brave PTY LTD. This is a social enterprise (social entrepreneurship venture), not an NPO or NGO. Growing Hope and Grow Brave was founded by marketing consultant and creator, Jacqueline du Plessis who is passionate about social change, development, empowerment, and entrepreneurship.

    Project Management & Marketing Services

    Grow Brave PTY LTD manages and supports the running of Growing Hope. Grow Brave works with and supports local and community partners, schools, organizations, and NGOs. Grow Brave makes sure that each sponsored project is initiated and implemented with integrity and best practices, and provides marketing services for sponsors in return.
